摘要:
Long-term performance stability and durability is the most critical issue in the development of commercially viable high temperature solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technologies. One of the main factors which influence the durability of SOFCs is the degradation and poisoning of electrochemical activities of cathodes by the contaminants such as volatile chromium from metallic interconnect, boron species due to the use of glass sealants and sulphur species in air streams. In this talk, the deposition and poisoning effect of volatile chromium, boron and sulphur species on the cathode materials will be briefly reviewed and the most recent results on the fundamental relationship between the surface diffusion, segregation, polarization and deposition and poisoning of the contaminants will be presented on the most common cathodes such as La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-d (LSCF) and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM). An important aspect in the study of durability of SOFCs is the development of specific methodologies for the targeted and accelerated tests. The fundamental understanding of the deposition and poisoning mechanism has significant implications to the design of more advanced SOFC stacks. In addition, the challenges and opportunities in the development of contaminant tolerant cathode materials are discussed.
